My favorite places to eat

Around here in Llansilin we don’t have very many places to go to. Although that fact doesn’t seem to affect us all that much seeing there are still plenty of fantastic places to eat at around here. Here’s a list of all the places I love eating at nearby. Keep in mind these places I define as nearby but “nearby” to me means maybe a 2 hour drive or so.

First of all I’m a huge fan of a little restaurant about an hour and a half drive away from my place that I never would have thought to eat at if it weren’t for my lovely friend Jonathan dragging me out there after a bit of an obsessive streak with installation art. But that’s a story for another time. Right now we’re talking about Barsati’s Authentic Indian Cuisine. Now I’ve had Indian food before it’s not that rare to find a place that serves it  but Barsati’s was by far the best experience I’ve ever had with Indian food. I later found out from the owner that he adjusts how he seasons the food depending on the customer. Isn’t that something else? I mean he really doesn’t need to go through all that effort but he thinks that it helps the customer enjoy their meal even more. If you’re wondering how exactly he does that he said he added a little extra of the spices when he served me my first meal there because he said I looked like someone who enjoyed spicy food and that on top of the fact that I looked pretty tired he thought I needed a little pick me up. He was absolutely right since I love spicy food and the food that night knocked my socks right off. He toned it down for a friend of mine because noticed she was wearing rather thick makeup and if she ended up sweating it’d ruin her makeup. Upon hearing this my friend was vastly appreciative. It’s the little things you know?

Another place I can’t get enough of is a small pizzeria not 10 minutes away from my place. I’d give you a name but the only signage the place has is an old piece of sheet metal with the word PIZZA on it so yeah nothing going there. However since it’s the only pizza place in town you should have no problems asking a local around here for directions. The pizza is fantastic but the real reason I go there is because of this strange pesto-like dipping sauce the lady who runs the place serves with every pizza. I have no idea what it is other than it’s green and makes the good pizza taste downright amazing. It’s not always the same sauce either since sometimes it’s spicy and sometimes it’s sweet and one time I could’ve sworn it had anchovies in it. If you’re ever around here you’ve got to try the place.

There are so many places that I want to talk about but if I put them all down now I don’t think that’d be good for the blog. So tune in to my posts to see what other places I’ll be talking about next!
